Old Bananas

Once upon a time, I decided to try to be a baker and make some banana bread and, believe it or not, I'm a pretty good one! Everything I've made thus far has turned out great, which is a good self-esteem boost for me since I never cooked more than ramen and macaroni until college, and even then all I did was add a nuked microwave baked potato.

For those of you who don't know, old bananas are the BEST when making banana bread. I learned this handy trick from my mother, because not only do old bananas mash and mix easier, but they are somehow tastier. I think that this gives my banana bread that little edge of yumminess.

Anyway, I sent Rhett off to work with two big and thick slices of banana bread. Around lunchtime I received a text from Rhett saying the bread was gone in a few minutes. Not because he ate it all, but because his coworkers devoured it. I can not repeat the words they used to describe it because they're marines, but needless to say they really liked it.

Well, last week, as we were looking for another car to drive/purchase, one of Rhett's coworkers offered to help, since he had connections at a car dealership. He said he could help get us a really good deal on a decent car. When I heard this, I told Rhett to tell his coworker that I'd make him banana bread if he did help us and...needless to say we got an even better deal than expected.

Short story shorter, the way to a good car deal is through a man's stomach. And some old bananas.
